WORCESTER COUNTY FAIR
AT BYRD PARK
LIVESTOCK EXHIBITS
Dear Maryland Association of Fairs and Shows:
The 2018 Maryland Fair and Show Policy for livestock and poultry attendance in Maryland exhibitions is attached for your information.
These are the changes to the published policies of 2016 and 2017.
Highlights of this year's Policy are:
1. LIVESTOCK- NO CHANGE
a. All cattle and swine must have a RFID ear tag for official identification.
b. Livestock petting zoos will be allowed with proper CVI and self-certification documents.
2. POULTRY-MINIMAL CHANGE
a. AI testing will require 15 birds or all birds in the flock if fewer than 15 birds from the exhibitors flock instead of 30 or up to 30 within 21 days prior to the exhibition.
b. Private sales will be again allowed at Maryland exhibitions if complete seller and buyer sales records are kept by the operator of the exhibition for one year. Wild bird displays and table-egg judging contests will be allowed.
We can all help reduce the potential risk of introduction and spread of infectious and/or contagious diseases by following general and specific health requirements outlined in this policy. We look forward to joining you in a healthy and productive 2018 Fair and Show Season.
