MID ATLANTIC RADIO KONTROLL SOCIETY
(MARKS)
The MARKS club was founded in 1957 to promote the building and flying of radio controlled model aircraft. The club currently has approximately sixty members and maintains an Academy of Model Aeronautics quality flying field on St. Lukes Road just southeast of Fruitland, Maryland.
Club membership is open to anyone who has an interest in model aircraft building or flying. Anyone interested is welcome to attend our monthly meetings or drop by the field to talk with some experienced flyers. All of the clubs activities can be viewed at www.marksrc.com, the club’s website.
Every
year the Club participates in several events that give us the opportunity to
show off many of the clubs airplanes, demonstrate our flying skills, and discuss
with the public the thrill of flying and building model aircraft. These
events include two weekend exhibitions at the Centre of Salisbury Mall and the
upcoming major Air Show at marks field on June 10th at Marks Field.
The air show is free and open to the public.
This year the club will participate in the Worcester County Fair. At the county fair, club members will exhibit an assortment of model aircraft and helicopters, be available to discuss with fair participants radio controlled flying, and conduct some actual demonstration flights with both airplanes and helicopters. Plan to visit the club’s display at the Worcester County Fair.
