The history of The Worcester County Fair can be traced back, through documentation, to 1951. Our early fairs were sponsored by the Future Farmers of America (FFA) and had poultry judging, pet shows, dairy and beef shows, pony judging, and produce judging which was limited to corn and soybeans . Over the years the fair has grown considerably and now includes livestock judging for goats, sheep, and swine. The pony judging has evolved into a complete horse show and the indoor displays have expanded to include arts, crafts, various fruits and vegetables (both fresh and preserved), clothing, and baked goods just to name a few (a full list of exhibits are available in the Premium Catalog).  With the increase in exhibits and activities came an increase in attendance and since 1971 the Worcester County Fair has required larger locations to host it.  Originally held at various schools in Berlin and Snow Hill, the fair moved to Furnace Town and, more recently, to Byrd Park in Snow Hill.  The Worcester County Fair is a not for profit organization that is organized by the volunteer work of the Worcester County Fair Board.   Money for the fair comes from fund-raisers, Fair Tabloid advertising, vendor fees, and the generosity of the Worcester County Commissioners.  The local community also contributes with donations of time, supplies, and money.  If you would like to contribute to this free, family-friendly event become a fair volunteer or make a donation today. See you at the fair!
